You will be met by your guide for a visit to Ekukhanyeni Relief Project.
Ekukhanyeni Relief Project is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that focuses on community upliftment in poverty stricken informal settlements close to
Johannesburg, South Africa.
Ekukhanyeni have reached over 12 000 children, between 0 and 6 years old, through their early childhood development programs, 70 upskilled ECD practitioners, 20 ECD Centres by 2021.

You will be met by your ranger for afternoon tea before setting off on a game drive to find some of Africa’s wildlife.

Sundowners and snacks will be scheduled at a place in the bush where the magnificent African sunset can be enjoyed.

Situated on the southernmost section of Kapama Private Game Reserve, Kapama Southern Camp is one of four luxury lodges within Kapama offering one of the most spectacular Big Five game viewing experiences the Greater Kruger Area has to offer. We will meet before sunrise for coffee and snacks before boarding your privatevehicle to head out to find the Rhino. A full safety briefing and brief explanationof rhino poaching and efforts to stop it will take place before departure.
On arrival at the site, you will witness the darting of a rhino by a highly trainedteam consisting of a wildlife veterinarian and our professional crew.
You will get up close to one of Africa’s most iconic animals and will assist in thefollowing activities:
• Assisting to manoeuvre the animal into a safe position.
• Monitoring vital signs of the animal.
• Drilling and inserting horn microchips or total de-horning, if required.
• Applying medication and ointments.
• Cutting of ear notches for identification purposes.
• Recording important measurements including horn length, shoulderheight and body length.
Once all the data has been recorded the rhino will then be re-mobilized.
When the rhino is safely back in the wild all crew and guests will enjoy a privatebush breakfast. During the breakfast there will be a full de-brief of the operationand reflection of the encounter. Your efforts would have made a meaningfulcontribution to the survival of the species.
After breakfast you will be transferred back to Kapama Southern Camp.
This is truly a once in a lifetime experience while making a significant contributionto the survival of the rhino species for future generations to enjoy.

Board your private vehicle to head out to find the Lion. A full safety briefing andbrief explanation of lion conservation efforts will take place before departure.
On arrival at the site, you will witness the darting of a lion by a highly trainedteam consisting of a wildlife veterinarian and our professional crew.
You will assist in the following activities:
• Assisting to manoeuvre the animal into a safe position.
• Monitoring vital signs of the animal.
• Collaring the lion for identification purposes.
• Applying medication and ointments.
• Recording important measurements including length of canines, paws,body length and body weight.
Once all the data has been recorded the lion will then be re-mobilized.
When the lion is safely back in the wild all guests will have a full de-brief of theoperation and reflection of the encounter.
Transfer back to Kapama Southern Camp.

Wake up early for your morning game drive.
Return to the lodge to enjoy breakfast.
Spend the day at leisure at the lodge.
